Q: What time does the Practicum start?
A: The Practicum begins 5:30 PM on Thursday night, September 13, 2012. Our New Hope shuttles will depart at 5:30 PM at the Double Tree Lobby and take you to the New Hope Ministry Center.
Q: What time does the Practicum end?
A: The Practicum concludes Tuesday evening, September 18 at 9:00 p.m.
Q: Where are the sessions held?
A: The sessions will be held at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Ministry Center; 290 Sand Island Access Road. We are 11 miles outside of Waikiki, and 2 miles from the Honolulu International Airport.
Q: Can I book a red-eye flight on September 18, Tuesday night?
A: It is highly recommended that you attend the final session in its entirety and book your return flight home for the morning of Wednesday, September 19.
Q: What flight should I book?
A: We are on the island of Oahu, and the Airport code for the Honolulu International Airport is HNL.
Q: How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
A: Airport to hotel transportation is not included in the practicum; participants are to arrange this on own. Taxi's are available 24 hours and easily arranged outside baggage claim.
Q: How far is the airport from Waikiki?
A: The airport is 13 miles from Waikiki, approximately 30-40 minutes driving distance.
Q: Should I rent a car?
A: No, a car rental is not necessary. You will be driven by New Hope's Transportation Ministry servants in comfortable New Hope 15 and 25 passengers shuttles. Because of the very early morning sessions and logistics regarding last minute changes, it is necessary for participants to utilize the shuttles to and from sessions.
Q: What hotel do I stay at?
A: We have arranged a block of rooms at the Double Tree Alana Hotel. The rate is $132 a night. The Double Tree will honor this rate for 3 days prior and 3 days post as well.
Q: What time is Hotel Check in?
A: Hotel check in is 3 PM. Plan to arrive at the hotel by this time on Thursday, Sept. 13, to give you ample time to be ready by 5:30 PM Thursday night’s pick up.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Per participant, the full session cost is $895 if you register and pay in full by August 1, 2012, or $995 after that.
Q: Can my wife attend the sessions with me or some of my leaders? Can my family come along?
A: The session rate per participant is listed above. Families may attend just the social events and church on the weekends at $200 per person. This covers the cost of meals and transportation.
Q: What is the target audience of the Practicums?
A: The Practicum is geared for senior pastors, leaders and church planters ready to plant within a 12 month period.
Q: Can the shuttles be arranged for personal transportation outside of the sessions?
A: We are not able to deviate from the routing or personalize transportation. The Honolulu Bus system is rated the highest in the nation and easily accessible via Waikiki for side trips during the free time.
What to Bring
Temperatures in Honolulu range from the mid-70's to the mid-80's. Some events will be outdoors so be sure to dress comfortably; athletic shoes, jogging attire, sunscreen and swimwear for the outdoor events. Please bring a sweater or light jacket however, as conference rooms can vary in temperature.
